Lowlander, for many of us, was the first time in the literary saddle since High School. You may observe improvement in our skill as the chapters progress. What we all learned was a respect for the written word and the authors who wield it with authority. It is no small task to write fiction. More difficult is the need to observe and respect the creation of others.
